Villa Zaubow

Villa Zaubow

This “villa”, located near Fontana Vaccaia, takes its name from the Russian princess Zaubow, wife of a general of the Tsar, who fled Russia after the Revolution. Not very beautiful in appearance, the princess hid a very generous soul: upon her death, in fact, she left all her employees a life annuity of £.60 per month. The Zaubow princes also owned the villa dell’Ombrellino, near Fiesole (FI) where they stayed during the winter months. After many years of abandonment and various modifications, the “villa” was restored and renovated into a “Casa per Ferie” with the name “La casetta” managed by the Cooperativa Sociale Soggiorni “CER” of Brescia. Via Brennero (formerly Via Ximenes), 84-86 51021 Abetone
