Fontanone Passo dell'Oppio

Fontanone Passo dell'Oppio

Probable Ximenian products are also the fountains: some rather simple, but always dignified, like the one in Limestre, near the Passo dell'Oppio; this one, on the edge of what is now the state road 66, stands in the Fontanone area (which takes its name from the artifact), and is called by the locals "pillone", in essential lines and poor materials: it consists of a monolithic ovoid basin in sandstone, leaning against a plastered brick head, crowned by a lowered arch and molded at the ends.
