Fontana di Pianosinatico

A beautiful fountain is located in the locality of Pianosinatico, formerly called Piano Asinatico, of uncertain origin. A hamlet of the Municipality of Cutigliano, passing through and connecting with the municipality of Abetone, it owes its birth to the events of the road. Here stood one of the four Post Stations, present in the Pistoia area, around which, and the activities connected to it, in fact the settlement developed. Near the Post Station therefore as an essential accessory also arose the fountain, located on the right edge of the uphill path, before a sharp bend on the left. Like all the fountains on the path it is entirely made of stone, with a large head that acts as a scenic backdrop, beyond which you can see a beautiful panorama, and a large monolithic basin for the collection.
