Fontana dell'Abetone

The fountain in question, much more elaborate than the previous one, should however date back to 1905, as can be read engraved on the architrave, perhaps being a remake of a previous structure. Made with squared sandstone blocks, it consists of three basins for the collection, of which the two lateral ones are smaller and lower than the central one, symmetrical and leaning against the pillars that support an arched structure with a molded trabeation; an integral part of the fountain, from which it emerges and seems to be shaped, is also the wall that extends on the two sides, also made with squared smooth ashlar blocks, which acts as a large scenic backdrop and frames a small square in the background before reaching the large Abetone square, behind which the woods extend. Probably restored and rearranged in 1942 as is engraved on one of the pillars separating the square from the road. Location Abetone
